Beschreibung
The name of the town Corleone is sadly linked to mafia violence, both the historical and the fictional one. But the real Corleone hides beyond the clichés.
Together with an activist belonging to a local association, you will discover the most genuine soul of the village, its strong commitment to the anti-mafia movement and the beauty of its breathtaking landscapes. You'll learn more about the history of the peasant movement and about the battles of personalities such as Placido Rizzotto and Bernardino Boar, who were killed by the mafia.
Among the stops: the “Laboratory of Legality,” which was created in a property confiscated from the Provenzano family, one of the main mafia families in Sicily. The Laboratory of Legality houses works by the Sicilian painter Gaetano Porcasi illustrating some salient moments in the history of the Mafia and Anti-mafia.
