Bergen: Chasing the waterfalls of Hardangerfjord
Beschreibung
Explore the natural beauty that surrounds Bergen and join this tour filled with great experiences. You will get up close to multiple waterfalls, walk behind a waterfall, see prehistoric rock carvings, and visit a little village next to the Hardangerfjord.
Our adventure kicks off with a comfortable bus ride out of Bergen. As the live guide tells interesting stories, you will see the landscape gradually changing into fjord views and forests.
The first destination is the quaint Mørkhølen Fossen waterfall. While it may be modest in size, its beauty and character more than make up for it. It's a great spot to take pictures, and of course, the guide will gladly help take pictures of you.
A mere 5-minute drive away, the spectacular Fossen Bratte waterfall awaits. The 79-meter-tall waterfall plunges down into a beautiful, calm valley. You can get right in front of the waterfall by following a gravel path down into the valley. Alternatively, by following the old road, you can reach the top of the waterfall, which offers a great view over the whole valley.
Now we continue our journey, crossing a mountain plateau and farmland, and will arrive at the picturesque little village of Norheimsund. Take the opportunity to walk next to the Hardangerfjord, check out the hotel dating back to 1857, or go for a coffee or find a souvenir. There is something to do here for everyone.
Our ride continues by taking one of the 18 official scenic routes in Norway. We will drive along the Hardangerfjord, and on a clear day, we might even see a glacier in the mountains. The stop on this journey will include a visit to the prehistoric rock carvings.
On our way back, we will stop at the Steinsdalsfossen waterfall. Norway has many waterfalls, but this one stands out because you have the possibility to walk behind it. While you are standing under the rocks, you will see the water thundering down right in front of you, creating an unforgettable memory.
Back in Bergen, you can be either dropped off at the cruise pier or in the city center at the fish market. This option means you can easily explore some parts of Bergen; just let the guide know.
About half of the time will be spent on the stops, while the other half is on the bus, including the scenic route.
